Assessment of dam function deterioration due to landslide-debris flows: numerical modeling based on vegetation distribution scenarios

Landslides are prevalent natural disasters in mountainous regions worldwide, and the debris flows that accompany them considered a significant cause of topographical changes. Landslide-debris property damage casualties if they occur densely populated areas, such as cities rural areas. Sediments entering dam or reservoir lake can compromise integrity functionality facility. To minimize damage, this phenomenon should be elucidated through numerical models quantitative analyses performed. Despite South Korea having approximately 18,000 dams reservoirs, with 70% country being mountainous, research on landslides occurring basins remains insufficient. However, studies essential for continuous operation management dams/reservoirs. This study focused analyzing caused by landslide-debris flow events basin. We established different scenarios based distribution vegetation basin to determine impact slope stability flows.
